Saturday keeps rolling with a book sale at Simpson and an oldies dance at the Elks. A handful of nearby-but-not-West-Shore highlights are worth the short drive, too.

Not Quite the West Shore, But Noteworthy

A couple of this week's best picks are a short drive outside our usual turf but worth the trip:

RENT — 30th AnniversaryOpens Friday, April 24 · Runs through May 10 · Playhouse at Allenberry, 1559 Boiling Springs Rd., Boiling Springs · Price and showtimes at keystonetheatrics.com or 717-462-4401 Keystone Theatrics opens a three-week run of Jonathan Larson's landmark rock musical — it's the 30th-anniversary year for the show. Notable context: this is one of Keystone Theatrics' final productions at the Allenberry Playhouse, so catching it here has a bit of an end-of-era weight to it. Boiling Springs is about a 20-minute drive from Camp Hill.

The Music of Billy Joel — Harrisburg Symphony POPSSaturday, April 25 at 7:30pm · Sunday, April 26 at 3pm · The Forum Auditorium, 500 Walnut St., Harrisburg · Tickets at harrisburgsymphony.org The season finale of the Harrisburg Symphony's Capital Blue Cross POPS series — Stuart Malina conducts, with Michael Cavanaugh (the Billy Joel-handpicked pianist from Broadway's Movin' Out) leading a full evening of Billy Joel's catalog with the full orchestra behind him. Across the river but a straight shot, and the Forum is a gorgeous Art Deco room.
