Mechanicsburg is home base this week — the Lisburn Community Fire Company's Olde Time Festival runs all four nights (country bands, chicken BBQ, tractor parade) right as the Little Theatre of Mechanicsburg opens its modern-day take on The Taming of the Shrew. Add a dozen-plus library craft days and drop-in kids' programs, New Cumberland's 6th annual Summer Cruise-In Car & Cycle Show, and the Cumberland Valley Fly Fishing Festival setting up in Boiling Springs, and the West Shore has plenty to fill a summer week. Grab a lawn chair — between Camp Hill's concerts on the library lawn and a lineup at New Cumberland's West Shore Theatre, live music isn't hard to find either.
